Powering rural communities for the road ahead
OUR MISSION
Connecting people, places, & opportunity
Together with community leaders, we install fast, EV charging stations along under-served travel corridors. Our mission is to support rural America by jump-starting economic engines that accompany EV charging infrastructure. At Frontier Charging, we connect people, places, and economic opportunity, preparing rural communities for the future while maintaining the characteristics that make them so unique.
HOW WE WORK
Partnering for success
Frontier Charging serves rural communities by creating partnerships between local governments and electric providers to install and maintain fast, EV charging stations in public areas. Partnering to share resources and risk, we help develop tailored solutions to fit each community's needs as they transition into the future of EV travel. Frontier Charging is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that focuses on finding the best ways to ensure open access to EV charging in rural America, generating and supporting economic development in those communities.
WHY WE WORK
EV adoption is growing rapidly
Our modes of travel are changing, electric vehicles are the future. They are affordable, reliable, efficient, and it’s now clear they will have a significant impact on the way we move from place to place. By 2030, 7-10% of all cars on the road in the US will be electric, with US manufacturers setting goals of 50% of all sales being EV by that time. But just like the combustion engine, electric vehicles require an investment in infrastructure. Without charging stations in each and every community, travel to and through these unique areas will decline with each passing year. Now is the time to prepare for the future and Frontier Charging can help.
WHERE WE WORK
Investing in rural America
According to the latest US Census data, 19% of the US population resides in rural communities, though rural areas make up 97% of our nation’s landmass. It makes sense then that most US travelers are driving to and through rural areas on a regular basis. Currently, large-scale EV infrastructure projects like we’ve seen with Tesla have focused almost exclusively on high-travel, interstate corridors, leaving many small, rural communities behind. Frontier Charging is focusing efforts on these rural spaces to ensure no one is left behind. Much like we saw with broadband communications, waiting too long to invest in EV charging infrastructure will negatively impact our rural communities. Now is the time to invest in rural America.
